The Public Service Commission, West Bengal Government has published the notification of 2018 Civil Service (Exe.) examination i.e WBCS 2018, which will be held on 28 January 2018. For the upcoming year there will be various posts, like Block Development Officer, Commercial Tax Officer, Excise Officer, Food and Supply Officer, Employment Officer (except technical), DSP of State Police, Joint Block Development Officer, Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Co-operative society Inspector etc. in four groups A, B, C and D.

WBCS 2018 recruitment procedure:

Then WBCS (Exe.) 2018 Examination will be held in two phases –

  • (1) Written
  • (2) Personality Test.

The Written Examination is divided into two parts.

  •  (a) Preliminary Examination (objective type) and
  • (b) Main Examination (both objective and conventional type)

 

SBI CLERK Exam postponed. Prelims will be held on June/July 2018.

Required Qualification for WBCS 2018:

Educational Qualification:

A candidate must have the following qualifications.

  • Any graduate passed from a recognized University can apply.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali)
Age limit:
  • For Group – A, C, and D the age limit is 21 to 36 yrs.
  • For Group – B, the age limit is 20 to 36 yrs.
Other Qualification:
  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Other eligible Nationals declared by the Govt. of India.

 

How to apply for WBCS 2018 Exe. Preliminary Exam?

Eligible candidates can apply only online through the official website www.pscwbonline.gov.in

  • Online Application starts from10th November 2017
  • Closing date for submission of online application30th November 2017 (up to 12:00 midnight)
  • Last date for submission of fees through online – 30th November 2017 (up to 12:00 midnight)
  • Last date for submission of fees through offline1st December 2017 (the challan must be generated by 30th November 2017)

Candidates should have a valid email id for applying. General Candidates have to pay Rs. 210/- as an FEE but SC/ST & OBC candidates are FREE.

Preliminary Exam:

This paper is objective type consists of 200 questions each carrying one mark. Candidates will have 150 minutes to complete this paper. Questions will come from the eight following topics,wbcs 2018

  2. General Science (25 questions)
  3. National and International current events (25 questions)
  4. Indian History (25 questions)
  5. Indian Geography with special reference to West Bengal (25 questions)
  6. Indian Polity and Economy (25 questions)
