    1. The post has been updated with some new entries and corrections. Grand Coulee is one of the biggest dams in the world. In terms of volume of reservoir The Three Gorges Dam in Hubei Province, China (1.4 miles wide & 630 feet high) is the largest hydroelectric dam in the world. It has the power capacity of 22,500 MEGA WATT.

    Tigers (Panthera tigris), specifically the Amur Tigers, are the largest cats, weighing in at up to 305 kg (671 lbs). 

    However, the tiger subspecies vary considerably in size. The smaller island tigers max out at around 140 kg (309 lbs). 

    Lions (Panthera leo) are next in size, reaching up to 225 kg (495 lbs). 

    All the other big cats are small by comparision: 

    – Jaguars (Panthera onca) get up to about 100 kg (220 lbs).

    – Pumas (Puma concolor) reach only about 85 kg (187 lbs). 

    – Even the largest Leopards (Panthera pardus) are only about 80 kg (176 lbs). 

    – Snow Leopards (Uncia uncia) are even smaller at about 55 kg (121 lbs). 

    – And finally, Cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus), the smallest of the big cats, get up to about 45 kg (99 lbs).
